The hand-held percussion drill is an ordinary power tool, designed for drilling holes in a variety of materials: metals, wood, plastics, concrete, masonry, etc., using cylindrical shank drill bits appropriate for the material being worked on. The drill has functions of infinitely adjustable spindle speed, change of rotation direction, drilling with and without impact.

It can also be used for screwdriving and unscrewing screws using commercially available screwdriver bits.
