The YT-2861 voltage monitor with LCD display allows to determine the presence of AC electric voltage and detect AC voltage by induction method The presence of voltage is indicated by the indication on the LCD display.

CONTACT METHOD

Apply the tester's rotor to a live component. The display will show the voltage values. The indicator will show the highest voltage range for the circuit under test and all lower ranges, e.g. when measuring voltage from a 230V household outlet, the display will show [12, 36, 55, 110, 220], indicating a voltage above 220V.

INDUCTIVE METHOD

The method allows you to detect AC voltage in an insulated wire. To do this, put your finger on the "Induction Test" field and bring the tip close to the insulated wire. The presence of a lightning bolt symbol on the LCD display indicates the presence of voltage. This method also allows „contactless” detection of a break in a live electric wire. At the point of the break, the tester will stop signaling the presence of voltage.
