YT-2864
DIGITAL VOLTAGE TESTER
The YT-2864 voltage monitor makes it possible to detect AC voltage, for example, in a household outlet or at the endsóof wiresówith two methods: contact and induction. The device also enables the user to carry out a cable continuity test and check the condition of batteries or rechargeable batteries. The presence of voltage is indicated by the illumination of an LED located inside the handle.
FUNCTIONS OF THE PRÓbnik
- range of AC voltage detection by contact method: 70 - 250V
- range of AC voltage detection by inductive method: 70 - 600V
- contact method battery detection: 1.5 to 9V
- contact method wire continuity test: 0 - 50 MΩ
- overall length: 140 mm
- blade width: 3.5 mm
- power supply: 2x1.5V; LR41
CONTACT METHOD
Apply the arrowhead to a live circuit. The illumination of the LED indicates the flow of electric current through this element. In this method, it is not recommended to touch the contact located on top of the handle. Touching the contact does not cause the risk of electric shock, but it increases the sensitivity of the próbnik and may falsify the indication.
Index Method
The method allows you to detect AC voltage in an insulated wire. To do this, grasp the tester by the insulated part of the blade and bring the contact located at the top of the handle closer to the insulated wire. When the LED lights up, it means that the tested wireód is live. You can increase the sensitivity of the method by grabbing the tester by the uninsulated part of the blade. This method also allows „contactless” detection of a break in a live electric wire. At the point of the break, the tester will stop signaling the presence of voltage.
CHECKING THE STATE OF BATTERIES
The tester allows you to check the state of batteries or rechargeableós designed to power a variety of electrical devices ranging from 1.5V to 9V. Apply the tester blade to the battery terminal marked „+”, touch the contact located on top of the handle, then touch the battery terminal marked „-”. When the LED lights up, it means that the battery or battery pack is charged. Do not use this method to test batteries or rechargeableós with higher voltage ratings. Do not test batteries or accumulatorsów connected to an electrical circuit.
WIRING CONTINUITY CHECK
Check the continuity of the wire by applying the tip to one end of the wire, then holding the contact located on top of the handle, grab the other end of the wire. The illumination of the LED indicates the continuity of the tested wire. It is forbidden to check the continuity of live wiresóin an electrical circuit using this method.
