How to choose earmuffs for the workplace:

Protective, anti-noise earmuffs provide protection for the operator from harmful noise by reducing the volume level measured in decibels by the value of the SNR parameter. The upper limit for an 8-hour workday has been set at 85 dB. If the average loudness measurements in the workplace exceed this value, then you should get ear muffs with a SNR parameter that will allow you to lower the noise level to 85 dB and less.
