YT-73094
DIGITAL MULTIMETER

The YT-73094 universal meter with TRUE RMS function and automatic range for each measurement allows you to perform basic and advanced electrical measurements. An additional and useful option is the ability to detect AC voltage without contact, as well as detect the phase wire through the insulation. With the 1.5V and 9V battery test, we can check the voltage of the battery under load, this will help to assess its condition and exclude or confirm the need for replacement.
Basic measurements:
- AC voltage measurement: A.C. 0-600 V, TRUE RMS + V.F.C.
- DC voltage measurement: D.C. 0-600 V
- alternating current measurement: A.C. 0-10 A, TRUE RMS + V.F.C.
- DC current measurement: D.C. 0-10 A
- resistance measurement: 0-9,999 MΩ
- diode test: IF 1 mA, UR 3.3 V
- circuit continuity test: 0-30 Ω
Additional measurements:
- capacitor measurement: 0-99.99 mF
- frequency measurement: 0-60 khz
- non-contact AC voltage detection: NCV
- 1.5 V battery test with a load resistance of about 30 Ω
- 9 V battery test with a load resistance of about 300 Ω
Measurement accuracies:
Example of determining accuracy for AC voltage measurement. Calculation for the measurement result: 235 V
- Measurement accuracy of YT-73094 meter for this range is : ±(1.2% + 3), resolution 0.1 V
- calculation of measurement error formula: (measurement result x 1.2%) + 3 x resolution
- calculation: (235 x 1.2%) + 3 x 0.1 = 2.82 + 0.3 = 3.12 V
Actual result including measurement error for 235 V indication = 235 ± 3.12 V
- Result including measurement error for DC voltage measurement indication: 12 V = 12 ± 0.114 V
- result including measurement error for AC current measurement indication: 8 A = 8 ± 0.15 A
A table with the resolution and accuracy for the measurement can be found in the user's manual.
Built-in functions:
- TRUE RMS - a meter with this function displays the true rms value of AC voltage/voltage. Unlike averaging meters, devices with true rms show the correct value not only for sinusoidal waveforms, but also for sinusoidal waveforms distorted, such as by higher harmonics, or square or triangular waveforms. A must-have function wherever switching power supplies, motor inverter drives, HVAC systems, etc. appear in a circuit.
- NCV - non-contact AC voltage detection by inductive method. The meter detects the presence of voltage in an insulated wire, and can also indicate the phase wire
- V.F.C. - low-pass filter. The function has its uses, for example, when measuring the output voltage of an electric motor controller, which uses the change of frequency and voltage to control the speed of the motor (VFD controllers). When the function is activated, the meter filters out high-frequency interference from, for example, a PWM signal and leaves only the low frequency. Thus, the filter allows accurate measurement of the rms value of the voltage/current flowing into the motor
- Test of 1.5 and 9 V batteries - the meter draws a small amount of current from the battery during the test, thanks to which we get 100% of the information needed to assess whether the power source will be able to power our device. For full information, it is a good idea to measure the DC voltage first, and then compare the result with the value from the battery test. Too much drop or low voltage is a clear signal that the power source needs to be replaced
- AUTO - automatic adjustment of the measurement range. When measuring unknown values with a meter with manual range adjustment using the dial, take measurements sequentially from the largest range up to the range giving the most accurate result - otherwise you risk damaging the device. On the other hand, in the case of a multimeter with the AUTO function, you only need to make one measurement and the meter will automatically find the optimal range. The meter starts by default in AUTO mode
- RANGE - manual change of the measurement range. A useful function when checking many of the same components with a known value, such as a series of resistors. Manual setting of the range will shorten the time of such measurements significantly
- SEL - change of measurement mode e.g. from AC to DC voltage measurement
- DATA HOLD - keeping the currently measured value on the display
