YT-73092
CLAMP CONVERTER
Universal clamp meter YT-73092 with automatic range for most indications allows you to perform basic and advanced electrical measurements. The meter is equipped with measuring clamps, which allow you to measure the AC current in a single wire using the inductive method. The measurement is carried out without disconnecting the circuit or disconnecting it from the power source, and makes it possible to measure a much higher current than conventional electrical meters.
Basic measurements:
- AC voltage measurement: A.C. 0-600 V, TRUE RMS + V.F.C. + lowZ
- DC voltage measurement: D.C. 0-600 V, LowZ
- alternating current measurement: A.C. 0-600 A, TRUE RMS + V.F.C.
- resistance measurement: 0-60 MΩ
- diode test: IF 1 mA, UR 2.3 V
- circuit continuity test: 0-120 Ω
Additional measurements:
- AC voltage measurement in low impedance mode: A.C. 0-600 V
- DC voltage measurement in low impedance mode: D.C. 0-600 V
- non-contact AC voltage detection: NCV
Measurement accuracies:
Example of accuracy determination for AC current measurement. Calculation for the measurement result: 30 A
The measurement accuracy of YT-73092 meter for this range is : ±(2.5%+10), resolution 0.01 A
- calculation of measurement error formula: (measurement result x 2.5%) + 10 x resolution
- calculation: (30 x 2.5%) + 10 x 0.01 = 0.75 + 0.1 = 0.8 A
- Actual result including measurement error for 30 A indication = 30 ± 0.85 A
Result including measurement error for AC voltage measurement indication: 235 V = 235 ± 3.3 V
result including measurement error for DC voltage measurement indication: 12 V = 12 ± 0.116 V
A table with the resolution and accuracy for the measurement can be found in the user's manual.
Built-in functions:
- TRUE RMS - a meter with this function displays the true rms value of AC voltage/voltage. Unlike averaging meters, devices with true rms show the correct value not only for sinusoidal waveforms, but also for sinusoidal waveforms distorted, such as by higher harmonics, or square or triangular waveforms. A must-have function wherever switching power supplies, motor inverter drives, HVAC systems, etc. appear in a circuit.
- NCV - non-contact AC voltage detection by inductive method. The meter detects the presence of voltage in an insulated wire, and can also indicate the phase wire
- LowZ - measurement of AC and DC voltage in low impedance mode. The phenomenon colloquially called ghost voltage can make it difficult to diagnose power networks, for example, in industrial buildings. It consists in the appearance of a voltage on an unconnected wire, in which the voltage is induced from the mains-connected wire routed through the same channel. The LowZ function lowers the impedance of the meter's measuring sockets by 10 times compared to the standard measurement mode, then the meter sampling the voltage draws a slightly higher current and thus discharges the accumulated charge in the wire. The result is a voltage measurement devoid of the so-called ghost voltage.
- V.F.C. - low-pass filter. The function has its uses, for example, when measuring the output voltage of an electric motor controller, which uses the change of frequency and voltage to control the speed of the motor (VFD controllers). When the function is activated, the meter filters out high-frequency interference from, for example, a PWM signal and leaves only the low frequency. Thus, the filter allows accurate measurement of the rms value of the voltage/current flowing into the motor
- AUTO - automatic adjustment of the measurement range. When measuring unknown values with a meter with manual range adjustment using the knob, take measurements sequentially from the largest range up to the range giving the most accurate result - otherwise you risk damaging the device. On the other hand, in the case of a multimeter with the AUTO function, you only need to make one measurement and the meter will automatically find the optimal range. The meter starts by default in AUTO mode
- SEL - changing the measurement mode, for example, from AC to DC voltage measurement, switching the diode test to circuit continuity test or resistance measurement
- HOLD - keeping the currently measured value on the display
Additional information:

Attention!
Current measurement with clamps meters is performed only on a single conductor, single wire. Fastening the clamps on a multiconductor cable without isolating the single conductor will show an incorrect result or zero current flow.
