The YT-73200 non-contact infrared thermometer with a large color LCD display, expanded circular laser sight, emissivity adjustment, and numerous functions for easy operation, including max/min, high and low temperature alarm, and calibration function. It will find its use in many industries, including construction, automotive, food service, as well as household.

DEFINITIONS

IR Radiation - each object, depending on its current temperature, emits adequate infrared radiation. The IR thermometer, by means of optics, focuses this radiation onto an infrared sensor, which first converts it into heat and then into electrical energy. The energy value is then read and converted into a temperature indication. The entire process in YATO pyrometers takes no longer than 0.5 seconds.

Emissivity - is a parameter that determines the ability of an object to emit thermal radiation. Most organic, varnished and oxidized materials have an emissivity of 0.95, and this is the parameter that is set at the factory. However, some materials such as lead and aluminum have a much lower emissivity, so if there is a need to get a measurement as close to the real thing as possible, the emissivity parameter should be set in advance to the appropriate value for the material. Tables of emissivity should be sought in the scientific literature or on the Internet.

Low and high temperature alarm - a function useful, for example, in locating thermal bridges in cold weather. Measure the temperature at the center of the wall to get a reference point, then depending on the temperature outside, set the low temperature alarm a few degrees lower. The next step is to measure the temperature where thermal bridges are most likely to occur, such as wall-to-ceiling joints, around window frames, etc. If the temperature reading falls below the alarm setting, then you will hear a beep and an additional indication on the display.

Accuracy of measurement - the optics and control electronics in YATO pyrometers ensure high accuracy and repeatability of measurements. However, due to many manufacturer-independent variables, including humidity and ambient temperature at the measurement sites, it is impossible to calibrate the device so that its accuracy is 100% in all conditions. The manufacturer declares the possibility of a measurement error of +-1.5°C in ambient temperatures from 0°C to 40°C for surface temperature measurements above 0°C. This means that with the correct emissivity setting, the measurement result of 100°C should be interpreted as a value in the range of 101.5-98.5°C.
