How to choose earmuffs for the workplace:

Protective noise-canceling earmuffs provide the operator with protection from harmful noise by reducing the sound level measured in decibels by the value of the SNR parameter. The upper limit for an 8-hour workday has been set at 85 dB. If the average noise measurements at the workplace exceed this value, then earmuffs with an SNR parameter that allows reducing the noise level to 85 dB or less should be used. Assuming that we will work all the time with earmuffs with an SNR parameter of 32 in an environment with a noise intensity of 116 dB, then we will reduce the noise to 84 dB.

If the operator wears earmuffs for longer than a few minutes, it is worth paying more attention to the design elements that improve their comfort. Appropriately wide sealing cushions made of skin-friendly materials should accommodate the entire user's ear. The soft padding of the headband will relieve pressure on the top of the head.
