YT-73137
WIRE TRACKER ANTI-INTERFERENCE DESIGN
Cable Locator YT-73137 is a wiring inspection and locating device. It is used to determine the route of a cable in a wall, identify a network cable in a server room, locate a break in a car's electrical system, verify the order of connections in an RJ-45 cable, and check the condition of a telephone line.
It consists of two devices: a transmitter and a receiver. The transmitter is connected to the cable being searched for, to then transmit a signal with a frequency known to the receiver when the SCAN function is activated. The receiver can wirelessly capture the signal from as far as several centimeters* away from the cable being searched.
It is immune to interference. The signal received by the receiver is converted into noise- and crackle-free sound. The power of the transmitter allows the signal to be transmitted in the wire over a minimum distance of 1 kilometer. The built-in jack socket on the receiver allows you to connect, for example, the included headphones.
- casing material: ABS
- adjustable signal tracking sensitivity/loudness
- transmitter dimensions and weight: 63 x 134 x 31 mm / 138 g
- receiver dimensions and weight: 40 x 200 x 32 mm / 120 g
- power supply for transmitter: 3 x AAA - 1.5V batteries
- receiver power supply: 6F22 - 9V battery
- low battery indication
Functions:
- location and routing of cable
- location of break in cable
- verification of connection order in RJ45 cable
- checking the voltage of a telephone line
- verifying the polarity of voltage in a telephone line
- verifying the presence of a short circuit
Locating wires in walls, among other safety purposes, must be done without the presence of line voltage in the wire being searched.
*The receiver will capture a stronger signal if one of the crocodile pins of the transmitter cable is connected to ground. The ground can be either the ground wire in the home installation or, in the absence of other options, our body touching the floor as well. Internal tests confirmed the reception of the signal transmitted in the cable from a distance of 15 cm from the receiver (measurement without obstacles between the receiver and the cable).
