YT-730934
CLAMP MULTIMETER TRUE RMS AC/DC 10MA-600A

The universal clamp meter with automatic range for each measurement allows you to perform basic and advanced measurements of electrical quantities. The meter is equipped with measuring clamps that allow to measure DC as well as AC current in a single wire by means of a built-in HALL sensor. The measurement is carried out without disconnecting the circuit or disconnecting it from the power source, and makes it possible to measure much higher current than conventional electric meters. The leads of the measuring probes have silicone insulation, which is flexible and resistant to high temperatures.
Note: Meters capable of measuring DC current, including YT-730934, use a Hall sensor that measures the value of magnetic field strength. The magnetic field on Earth occurs naturally, consequently, the DC intensity meter readings are non-zero. Each time, before measuring the DC intensity, bring the meter close to the wire under test, zero it with the REL button, then clip it onto the wire under test and read the result.
Basic measurements:
- AC voltage measurement: A.C. 0-600 V, TRUE RMS (40-1000Hz)
- DC voltage measurement: D.C. 0-600 V
- alternating current measurement: A.C. 0-600 A, TRUE RMS (40-1000Hz)
- DC current measurement: D.C. 0-600 A
- resistance measurement: 0-60 MΩ
- diode test:IF 1.5 mA,UR 3 V
- circuit continuity test: 0-50 Ω
Additional measurements:
- A.C. and D.C. voltage measurement in low impedance mode: 0-600 V
- capacitor measurement: 0-60 mF
- frequency measurement: 0-300 kHz
- temperature measurement: -30 to 1000 °C
- non-contact AC voltage detection: NCV
Measurement accuracies:
Example of accuracy determination for AC current measurement. Calculation for the measurement result: 30 A
- The measurement accuracy of YT-730934 meter for this range is : ±(2.0%+30), resolution 0.01 A
- calculation of measurement error formula: (measurement result x 2%) + 30 x resolution
- calculation: (30 x 2%) + 30 x 0.01 = 0.6 + 0.3 = 0.90 A
Actual result including measurement error for 30 A indication = 30 ± 0.90 A.
- Result including measurement error for AC voltage measurement indication: 235 V = 235 ± 2.65 V
- result including measurement error for DC voltage measurement indication: 12 V = 12 ± 0.09 V
A table with the resolution and accuracy for the measurement can be found in the user's manual.
Built-in functions:
- TRUE RMS - a meter with this function displays the true rms value of AC voltage/voltage. Unlike averaging meters, devices with true rms show the correct value not only for sinusoidal waveforms, but also for sinusoidal waveforms distorted, such as by higher harmonics, or square or triangular waveforms. A must-have function wherever pulse power supplies, motor inverter drives, HVAC installations, etc. appear in a circuit.
- VlowZ - measurement of AC and DC voltage in low impedance mode. The phenomenon colloquially called ghost voltage can make it difficult to diagnose power networks, for example, in industrial buildings. It consists in the appearance of a voltage on an unconnected wire, in which the voltage is induced from the mains-connected wire routed through the same channel. The LowZ function lowers the impedance of the meter's measuring sockets by 10 times compared to the standard measurement mode, then the meter sampling the voltage draws a slightly higher current and thus discharges the accumulated charge in the wire. The result is a voltage measurement devoid of the so-called ghost voltage.
- NCV - non-contact AC voltage detection by inductive method. The meter detects the presence of voltage in an insulated wire, it can also indicate the phase wire
- AUTO - automatic adjustment of the measurement range. When measuring unknown values with a meter with manual range adjustment using the knob, make measurements sequentially from the largest range up to the range giving the most accurate result - otherwise you risk damaging the device. On the other hand, in the case of a multimeter with the AUTO function, you only need to make one measurement and the meter will automatically find the optimal range. The meter starts by default in AUTO mode
- DATA HOLD - retaining the currently measured value on the display
- PEAK HOLD - retaining on the display the highest measured value by means of measuring probes
- INRUSH current - measurement of inrush current by means of measuring probes. The meter will measure the current within 100 ms of starting the device
- REL - relative value function. Allows you to zero the meter's readings. Necessary in DC current measurement mode. Hall sensor measures the value of the ambient electromagnetic field and shows the result on the display. Before measuring the DC current, bring the meter close to the wire under test, zero it, then put the pincers on the wire under test. This will give a result undisturbed by the values of the ambient electromagnetic field indications

Attention!
Current measurement with clamps meters is performed only on a single wire, single cable. Fastening the clamps on a multiconductor cable without isolating the single conductor will show an incorrect result or zero current flow.
